Frequently asked questions.

What are you hours? When are you open to the public?

We only open to the public for tours and events. Tours dates are released approximately a month before tours start. (Usually released starting in May). You will be able to book your tour date once they are released. Events happen throughout the year and you can find them when they are announced on social media.

Not only is this a Sanctuary but it is a private home. We are not a public space. We ask that people respect this fact and do not show up outside of an event or tour that you have signed up for.

Can I donate food or supplies?

We generally do not take food from private households. If you have farm supplies you feel could be useful to the residents we would love if you sent us an email.

I wish to surrender an animal.

Please note: We are not able to take in roosters or drakes (male ducks) at this time.

We do occasionally take surrenders of farmed animals under special circumstances. Please contact us directly or contact P.E.A.C.E. Canada

Do we get to pet the animals on the tour?

The tours are interactive and we have many animals that love attention! However, we are not a petting zoo. Our residents are given the choice whether to interact with people and we respect their choice. Keep in mind, you are in THEIR home and you are a stranger to them, they get to choose their interactions. Just like every being (including you!) should get to choose.

Can I bring small children on the tour?

We have decided to put an age limit of children 5 years and up for tours this year. Please keep in mind there is lots of standing, walking and listening to the residents stories. You are able to bring a stroller but won’t be able to use it in the animal paddocks where most of the tour takes place. Please keep this, your children’s and your own abilities in mind when booking a tour.
